Great Resources

Rather than dish of some indispensible nugget of wisdom (in my mind) that will have you bouncing out of bed every morning with the kind of enthusiasm you’d normally associate with Lindsay Lohan accepting a job on a Bolivian Coca farm, I want to break away from the norm today and give you the opportunity to read about some other great blogs and services that you may or may not be aware of.

I must stress that I don’t stand to make any affiliate money whatsoever, I just want to give some love back and spread the word. Corny, or what?

Wordprezzie – I think my blog is brilliant, seriously I do. Ok, maybe not always the content, but the layout and design are very cool imho.

3 people deserve the credit. Firstly, Tom Jelneck at On Target Web Solutions for doing the original site design and some great SEO work, and more recently, Nick and Hayley at Goburo for taking the site design and running it through to my blog. Both of those companies are a delight to work with and I can’t recommend either highly enough.

Nick has launched a new site called Wordprezzie this week (note for Americans; Prezzie is a slang word in the UK for present). Now people can buy Nicks fantastic designs off the shelf for a fraction of the cost of a bespoke WordPress blog.  Cor blimey guv’nor what a bargain!

If you have a blog that’s uglier than Wally the Worried Warthog, get yourself over to Wordprezzie and have it looking cuter than a pride of very cute lion cubs at a cuteness convention in no time at all.

GLCzone – This is the baby of KC that runs the DocInTheBiz blog. GLCzone is a meeting place for bloggers and readers of self-improvement blogs. She wants it to be the WebMD of all things self-development and self-improvement. If you have a blog that fits that description go and get it registered (it’s free). If you don’t have a blog, check it out anyway because there are loads of great resources and links to top blogs like mine, he says without any shred of humility.

Aliventures – There are a lot of great web design and copy-writing companies lurking all over the net that I could recommend. I’ve already mentioned Goburo and I could easily mention Men With Pens and Itty Biz too as companies that I have used and will do so again.

Ali Hale has recently had the guts to quit her boring 9 to 5 job and set up a business of her own doing the above ‘stuff’ I have known her for about 6 months (through The Office Diet) and she helped me a great deal with the editing of my e-book ‘Know Yourself – Change Yourself’ She’s a great person, a gifted writer and a pleasure to work with. I know she’ll be very successful and you have a chance to hire her whilst she’s finding her feet and charging crazily low rates.

Kitchen Table Medicine – This is a brilliant resource for all things alternative when it comes to health. What lends it real credibility and kudos is that owner and major contributor Doc Nicole, is a medical doctor. She’s not somebody that has read a couple of books on herbs, smokes lots of dope and wants to dispense debatable wisdom, she knows her onions and other vegetables too.

Whether you’re healthy and want to stay that way, or have some ailment that you’d like help with I’d recommend you search the archives. You’ll find a cornucopia (I’ve always wanted to use that word) of great information that you can put to beneficial and practical use.

Finally, for those of you that may have seen my post some while ago about doing a life coaching experiment. The latest installment by JEMi is now posted and you can see how she’s getting along with life coaching by clicking here.

A cornucopia, is a horse with a tusk – right?

Thanks for this little round up. I like Nick’s work, and recently I’ve been eyeballing Nick and Hayley’s Ice Cream Dream as the thing to get my first blog underway.

I also like his approach to getting projects kicked off. Inspirational!!

Thanks for the link to Doc Nicole. I disovered yesterday that red food dye gives me a headache…. and it happened again today, so I’ll go an see if the Doc has any insights into that.

    Cheers.

    Dave

  • So sweet and wonderfully kind of you to share all our websites with your readers. Thank you, Tim, for all you do for all of us!

  • You have good taste. The Pen Men, the IttyBitch (hehehe) and Nick… who doesn’t get a witty name because I can’t think of one.

May I add that I’ve read your stuff, Tim, and that I think your ebooks are worthwhile to helping people figure their sh*t out? They are. And I don’t compliment lightly.

    Cheers!

  • @ Dave – That’s EXACTLY what a cornucopia is, thanks for clarifying. You’ll be pleased with Wordprezzie, of that I’m sure.

@ Doc KC – No problem you’re site deserves to do really well, best of luck with it.

@ James – I can’t think of a witty name for Nick either. It’s probably because he’s a dour Yorkshireman that wears a flat cap and eats Whippets. I doubt anybody here has the first idea what the hell I’m talking about. BTW, if you wanna say ‘figure their shit out’ you say ‘figure their shit out’ ;-)

  • These look very cool.

Another great health site, not so much a blog, is http://www.drweil.com

    Nice linkies.

  • @ B.F. – Thanks for the link. I have to add that Kitchen Table Medicine hasn’t posted for almost a month. No idea what is going on, but I hope Nicole is back in full effect soon.
