Testimonials

This has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I did not know what to expect going in – and to be honest, I was a bit naïve of the process. However, after the first session, I knew I was going to enjoy the ride.

Life Coaching / What Is Stress Management?
life coaching / stress management /

Stress is frequently described as America’s number one killer and many surveys have it as a contributing factor in over 80% of all doctors’ appointments.

We all need a certain amount of stress in our lives, it helps give us that edge to perform when we really need it but too much can have a severely detrimental effect.

Long term stress is known to contribute to higher blood pressure, the lowering of the immune system, fatigue, headaches, irritability, irritable bowel syndrome, poor sleep patterns, mental health issues and a whole host of other problems.

In its traditional format Stress Management is a broad term that encompasses education and training in the nature of stress. It generally teaches and promotes skills and practices such as improvedbreathing techniques, relaxation, meditation, and visualization to help increase body awareness and give back control of physiological functions.

I prefer to use a combination of NLP, hypnotherapy and more traditional methods depending on the individual circumstances. More importantly, it is necessary to look at and seriously reduce or eradicate the cause, rather than simply treat the symptoms.

People are often unaware of why they feel stressed and they frequently feel that this is just ‘normal’ and ‘the way it is’ By looking at the underlying cause we can get a better understanding and help the body cope and make sure that we use stress to help us rather than allowing it to dominate our lives.

The one thing for sure is that you do not have to accept a life full of stress, but it maybe necessary to re-evaluate your life and priorities if you are serious about keeping it to an acceptable level that helps you perform when necessary without impinging on your well being and enjoyment of life.

Be well.
