Using NLP To Remove A Headache
Before I get into todays post and let you pose the question to yourself, “Has Brownson finally lost his mind?” I just want to tell you about Wednesday nights phone-in.
As may know, to celebrate the launch of my latest book Aligning With Your Core Values, I acquired the services of Karl Staib to throw a Twitter Party and live Phone-In and I was joined by special guests Pam Slim, Charlie Gilkey and Tony Teegarden.
I was a bit nervous prior to the event because I’d never done anything like this before. And whereas values are without doubt the most fundamental and important part of both Life Coaching and self development, I wasn’t sure I could keep the conversation going for an hour.
I shouldn’t have worried though, because not only did I have a blast but my guests were brilliant!
I almost never listen to my own interviews, but as soon as Karl uploaded this I went and downloaded it to listen again.
Not to listen to what I had to say I hasten to add, but to digest some awesome advice from my guests.
If you’re keen on getting some really interesting perspectives on values, not just in your personal life, but in business too, I highly recommend you download the phone-in and take a listen, as well as buying the book of course ;-)
It is free for the next 2 weeks at which point Karl archives it for his members. I promise you, you’ll learn some cool stuff!
In the meantime, I have gone all woo-woo with the 3 minute video below, but if you have a headache it may be worth you checking out this NLP technique!

You did a nice job. Glad I could listen in.
Thanks Sam and also for your questions!
Good to put a voice and person to the tweets and posts. This was a bit woo woo for me (I don’t do woo woo) but found it interesting to listen. Always open to new stuff. Loved that bit when your chair goes back to reveal the dogs head hanging over the edge of the sofa. Wondered if you had done this experiment with him.
Ha! No, she’s the most chilled out dog on the planet and doesn’t do headaches ;-)
I think its really helpful for the headache.Thank for sharing
You’re welcome.
Brilliant, the dog no longer has a headache and he’s fast asleep, you are the male Barbara Woodhouse.
That’s not a whole dog. I just nailed the head of a dog to the end of the sofa.
I did the exact same thing with a friends backache, except I tied it to a helium balloon and it floated up through the clouds. She instantly felt the pain disappear. Woowoo or not, it works. I love reading your stuff Tim. Nice work you are doing.
I like it Kenny! Thanks for sharing.
All you gave some amazing core values tips that I never thought of before. It was an awesome call.
I’m going to try this headache technique on my wife next time. I think she would really dig it.
It sure was matey, thanks for organizing!
Hi Tim,
Thanks for sharing Vid & download, great stuff.
be good to yourself
David
I am being good to myself with a lovely cup of coffee on a beautiful Sunday morning as we speak!
Sometimes I wish I could think more visually, but I just don’t. Mind you, I don’t have a headache, and know a visual thinker who does.
Puts me in mind of a similar technique from Mr Derren Brown about reviewing bad life experiences on an imaginary cinema screen and reducing their impact progressively. Again, apparently successful, but really works best for visual thinkers. What about us poor verbal/aural types? We suffer too!
Nice stuff, and fascinating. Will give it a go with Mrs headache upstairs, perhaps :)
Yeh that can suck Esjay, however you can learn to be more visual. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance, but it can be done.
When I have non-visual clients I encourage them to use their other senses because visualization isn’t just about visualizing.
I like it! Nice, simple and clean.
Like the best things usually are Lonnie!
thanks for taping the twitter party Tim – listening to it as I write. btw – did you have a headache when doing the above video? lol:) was it the kid or the headache you stuffed into the mailbox!?! this was one of your funniest videos – i can see the American Medical Association contacting your shortly.
Looking forward to reading your new book.
Either the kid or the headache will work equally effectively!
I doubt I’ll hear from the AMA, there’s profits to be had you know!
The twitter party was fab but I was bummed that I couldn’t access the call at the time. Looks like I get to listen in after all…Thanks!
You’re welcome and thanks to Karl for making it accessible for free!
Just had a listen to the core values twitter party. Great to hear all the different perspectives. Such an important subject but very often overlooked.
I always say to my own clients that building your life & business without sorting your core values out first is like building a house without foundations – at some stage it will all come crashing down.
Agree, a massively underrated topic in my opinion, but hopefully we’re redressing the balance ;-)
