Happiness Is Just An Illusion

Have you ever been in a really bad mood with a loved one and refused to snap out of it? Have you talked yourself into believing that they put you in that state, that they caused you to feel bad and to show them the error of their ways you were going to refuse to talk to them forever and ever!

Then all of the sudden the phone rang and was answered by the person you were unhappy with and they said it was for you. It was your boss/best friend/lover/Santa Claus (delete where applicable) and you simply had to take the call. In the moment that the phone was passed from the other person to you and you started talking I guarantee that your state changed and probably changed big time.

Who did that I wonder? Who decided that you were going to feel better? Who put that extra bounce in your sullen voice albeit temporarily?

Amazingly enough it wasn’t the Thought Police it was you. How amazing is that, the fact that you can change your mood in a split second? What possible use could that be I wonder?

Note: Don’t go fooling around with this state changing stuff trying to be happy with life, it really is only an observation you know.

This post was inspired by reading an excellent post here I’d encourage you to check it out.
