FAQs

What Is a Life Coach?

The short answer is: someone who helps you focus on getting out of life what is  important to you (even when you don’t know what that is yet!) and gives you the tools to keep doing this long after your final session.

Unlike counseling, Life Coaching isn’t that interested in the past, preferring instead to focus on where you want to go than where you have been.

If you want a more in-depth answer to that question go and grab my free ebook What The Hell Is Life Coaching? that can be found at the bottom of the page.

Isn’t It A Bit Woo-Woo To Work With a Life Coach?

I get asked that quite often and it always makes me laugh. I am about as unwoo-woo as you can get. If you doubt that, check out a few of my blog posts.

Sure, there are Life Coaches out there that are more in touch with their woo-woo side, but Life Coaching is a lot more mainstream than people realize these days. Trust me I won’t be asking you to wear sandals, eat tofu or stroke a dolphin. Unless you want to, that is!

How many sessions will I need?

Unlike a lot of Life Coaches I don’t have long-term contracts. I love it when clients are able to see results sooner than expected and prefer to give people tools they can use to keep moving forward after they have finished working with me.

The average client usually stays with me for between 4 and 6 sessions and seldom do I work for longer than 10 sessions with any one client.

Do you ever offer Life Coaching specials?

Very occasionally I run specials, however, these are always offered in the first place to my newsletter subscribers.

Do you work with other Life Coaches?

Yes I do, frequently, and I absolutely love coaching other Life Coaches and also helping them get established online.

Can we speak prior to commencing Life Coaching?

Definitely, it’s something that I insist on doing with every client before I start working with them.

Even when people buy Life Coaching for family and friends I will speak with the client first to make sure that it’s going to be right for them.

What happens if we finish before we use all the Life Coaching sessions?

If you get results sooner than you expect and this happens fairly regularly, you have 3 choices for your remaining sessions:

1. You can bank the session or sessions in case you need a bit of help in the future. This is what most people tend to do.
2. You can donate the sessions to someone that can’t afford Life Coaching.
3. You can receive a refund on a pro rata basis.

You can check out my refund policy here.

Do you Life Coach younger people?

I view this on a case by case basis. If I am 100% sure the person wants coaching and I am working to their agenda and not a parents or guardian, then I will consider it.

But even then, I won’t coach people under the age of 18 and if I’m being honest it’s probably not what I’m best at.

Are there any clients you don’t work with?

There are many conditions where Life Coaching may not be appropriate or I’m not the best Life Coach for the job.

I won’t take clients suffering from schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, autism, Aspergers syndrome, anger management issues or relationship issues.

I’m also not really interested in working with people that just want help with time management and/or productivity.

Can you Life Coach people undergoing therapy?

Absolutely I can, and do so regularly, as long as the therapist in question is advised and we’re not working on the same issues or any of the ones I mentioned above.

Do you take medical insurance?

Unfortunately, at this time no health insurance companies (that I know of) will pay for Life Coaching

Are you a career coach?

I work with a lot of people that are looking to change careers, advance their careers and start up their own businesses.

However, I am not a career coach in the strictest sense of the phrase. I do not help people look for a job nor do I do any psychometric testing or resume writing that some career coaches may do.

Do you work with couples?

No.

Do you do group coaching?

I’m always open to talk about putting something on tailor made for your group.

Can I speak to people you have coached?

Absolutely, just email me or call me on 407 334 4692 and I can arrange this for you. You can also read some testimonials here.

What are your payment terms?

Full payment for Life Coaching is due prior to the commencement of coaching. Under exceptional circumstances I will do what I can to accommodate anybody that has difficulty with this.

Preferred method of payment is PayPal. If you book a course of sessions and you are not completely satisfied and wanting to continue after the first session, I will offer a 100% refund including that session.

What if I don’t like Life Coaching after the first session?

No problems, I’ll give you a full refund including the cost of the first session with no hard feelings.*

Do you do Life Coaching via e-mail only?

Here is my take on Life Coaching Via E-Mail

Do you do public speaking?

Absolutely, call me on 407 334 4692 if you want more details.

Can I write a guest post for your blog?

I do take high quality guest posts, but please check out the conditions by clicking here first.

Can I Interview You?

Most definitely, I don’t think I have ever turned down an interview request.

Do you use  affiliate links on your blog?

Yes I do sometimes when linking through to books I recommend on Amazon.

I usually get paid between 4% and 6% commission if somebody then buys. Most of the training companies I link to I do not earn any commission, and on the rare occasions I do, I always say so in the post concerned.

Where do you get the cartoons you use from?

They all come from iStock.com
