I’m A Life Coach, I Don’t Do Appendectomies

I get a lot of compliments about my website. In fact most of my clients say they really like it. It’s informative, easy to navigate and not too salesy! On the other hand, I suppose those people that hate it with a passion wouldn’t bother calling me to hurl insults down the phone, so the feedback maybe somewhat skewed.

As a Life Coach I regularly deal with people that have their own business and

Taking A Leap Of Faith In Yourself

If I told you I had a steal beam 4” by 2” laid down in a parking lot and that I would pay you $50 to walk across it, would you do it?

I’m guessing you would unless you had some unnatural aversion to parking lots, steam beams or men making very strange promises. How about if I lifted up to say, 20 feet, now would you do it? Probably not for $50,

Is It Time To Take That Vacation?

One of the things that has struck with since living in the US is the low level of vacation time that most people take. I know that most new jobs seldom offer more than 2 weeks paid vacation time unless you are in highly employable, highly desirable bracket, which to my mind is nothing short of ridiculous.

When life-coaching clients come to me with issues around stress management and getting their work life

Bankrupt Yourself To Success

I know I have probably said this before but there are two very distinct types of people that come to me for life coaching. About 75% are committed to doing whatever is necessary to get where they want to be and the remainder are somewhat more reticent. That isn’t to say they are lazy and it certainly isn’t a criticism it’s just how it is They need a little more prodding and poking to

Who Cares If You Have A Degree – Can You Do The Job?

I do not have a degree; in fact I left school at 15 without many formal qualifications as all. I set off after a brief flirtation with being a trainee chef into the murky world of sales where I stayed for the next 20 years or so and was successful in terms of hitting quotas and earning good money.

I worked with many people that had incredible academic qualifications and many that had almost

Are You A Life Coach? – How Busy Are You?

I can remember when I was training to become a life coach being shocked at how little thought most trainee coaches had put into the sales and marketing side of their business. Most of the people I talked to seemed to think that being a great coach was enough to guarantee them a steady stream of grateful clients beating a path to their door ready to hand over large sacks of cash and undying

The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get

I was talking to my website developer the other day about making some changes to my site based around offering hypnotherapy training and a one-day meditation course. We have an excellent working relationship and speak once or twice a week to discuss how things are going. This was a normal conversation and as we were wrapping up I asked him how his month had gone. I heard a sharp intake of breath and a

Influencing Creativity

I did a post some while ago asking where do you think best? It was stimulated by the realization that all my best ideas seem to come when I am either at the gym or under reasonably intense physical pressure. I have no idea why this should be the case but it is, and I am happy to go with it. It has the added bonus of getting me off my rear end especially
