These People REALLY Need To Get A Life Coach
I was at Orlando Int Airport on Wednesday waiting to fly to the UK when we were hit with the kind of storm anybody from Florida will be all too familiar with. You know the kind of thing, torrential rain of biblical proportions, lightening as though it had been arranged by Pink Floyd on a world comeback tour and skies as black as….er something very black indeed.
Not surprisingly the airport was temporarily shut down. I know airplanes can fly through all sorts of terrible conditions these days but I would have taken some persuading getting on anything that hadn’t got ark at the end of its name.
There were 3 flights due to leave to the UK so there were a lot of people milling around with miserable looks on their faces. Flights back to the UK from North America are always going with the prevailing winds and as such they often catch up a lot of time. So I wasn’t particularly bothered about the delay and anyway going for a leisurely beer always beats being dead to me.
Then it started.
People were actually complaining that the planes weren’t taking off!
I was stunned that anybody would be so stupid, so impatient that they would rather risk their life and those of several hundred other people around them than wait an extra hour or two.
I can’t imagine what was going through their mind if indeed they had one, because this flight was scheduled to land at 7.20am so I doubt many people had work to go to that day and even if they had, what difference would a few minutes have made?
The reality was were about 140 minutes late leaving and only about 55 minutes late landing. To the best of my knowledge nobody died, nobody was terrified and nobody’s life was ruined, but there were several people that were a bit miffed.
