Need A Life Coach To Perform Brain Surgery? Then I’m Your Man!

Once in a while I will get a call from somebody saying they’ve read my blog and they’d like to hire me to speak to some group or other. This is kinda funny because I don’t do public speaking per se. They have almost always been on my website too and there is literally no mention of public speaking anywhere. There are plenty of references to life coaching, stress management, personal development, personal coaching and NLP but nothing that even hints at the fact that I may have a penchant for speaking to groups.

 

So why do they call me to hire me to do something that I have never said I do and there is no evidence to suggest I would be any good at even if I did? There are plenty of testimonials saying I am a good coach but I hardly ever get calls from people saying “I’ve read your Blog and want to hire you to be my life coach” When people call me for life coaching they have nearly always come through my website and not my Blog.

 

I’m sure a marketer would have a field day with this piece of information. Well maybe not a field day, but I’m guessing they may raise an eyebrow suggesting mild passing interest. I’m sure there is something profound in it that I am missing other than the obvious “Well do public speaking then you half-wit!”

 

I may just do that, in fact I will do that, it’s going on my 2008 agenda forthwith. Of course if somebody that is looking for a life coach to speak to their group now stumbles on this Blog they’ll probably think, “Hmm, does speaking eh? Well he’s not for us, we want somebody that doesn’t do it, that would be much more fun”
