Let This Be A Lesson To Me

As I posted yesterday I have let myself go the last 2 weeks whilst on vacation and I have felt worse for it. So today I resolved to do some serious exercise and prove to myself that I could bounce back quicker than a cat falling out of a tree with springs tied to its feet.

Apparently somebody adjusted my treadmill whilst I was away. The malevolent ******** broke into my house and somehow managed to set it so that when I was running at 7.5mph the display was only showing 6.0mph. I admit I am surprised they didn’t steal the TV or maybe my PC but I am guessing that was all part of their cunning plan to confuse me and confuse me badly.

I can normally trot my way to 3 or 4 miles without too much difficulty but with my errant machine making life difficult I only managed to stagger to 2.5 miles before flopping onto my bed exhausted and in severe need of a defibrillator, some smelling salts and a hospital crash team.

I’m not sure if my life coaching client that I saw 2 hours later noticed my popping veins and perspiring forehead but is she did she was way too polite to comment on it

Let this be a lesson to you my faithful friend. Either keep yourself fit once you get there and avoid abuses more accustomed to sailors on shore leave after 2 years at sea, or don’t bother trying to get fit in the first place. The latter removes disappointments such as this but it also robs you of the chance of feeling holier than thou when you finish a great workout knowing that you could rule the world if only they would give you the chance.
