Life Coaching For Kids - Part 3

Posted on 11 July 2007

So anyway as I was saying the other day before I got sidetracked talking about my new book ‘Don’t Ask Stupid Questions – There Are No Stupid Questions’.

We spend billions of dollars a year teaching kids all sorts of things that they will never need to know. I am not saying this is wrong or should be stopped but I am saying we should prioritize better than we are doing currently.

Surely it is more important that kids know how to breathe properly than it is to know who was the President when World War 2 ended? By being able to recognize our breathing and adapting it accordingly we can reduce stress, lower fatigue, feel better and improve our all-round health. That seems far more valuable to me.

So to the crux of what I am talking about. What if we included in the activity summer camps that are so popular time spent teaching kids some of the really valuable stuff that they often do not get at school?

If you have kids would you like them to know how to think positively, to be creative problem solvers, to live a life where they didn’t see limitations all the time and believe they can achieve their wildest dreams? What about knowing about some of the more obscure stuff like manifesting, visualization and the law of attraction?

It seems to me (and I am predominantly talking about the UK here) that there hasn’t been a radical overhaul of how we teach children….ever, so maybe now would be a good time.

When people have asked me what is the purpose of me writing a book I have answered that it was to help people out that cannot afford to pay for life coaching, drive traffic to my website which in turn would lead to more clients. Now I know that is wrong and the real reason is to make bucket loads of cash so that I can actually make this dream come true.

By the way if this post has left you wondering what the heck I am talking about you probably need to scroll back a day or two and read the two posts that preceded this one called Life Coaching For Kids Parts 1 & 2.
