Is Your Light Switch A Dimmer Switch?
Posted on 18 July 2007
I was talking with a life coaching client yesterday that lives in the UK yesterday. He is the type of client that I love to get (not that there are any I don’t love to get but you know what I mean) because he is up for anything and everything when it comes to anything to do with personal coaching and NLP and it makes life a lot of fun.
We were talking about breakthroughs and the fact that most people get very uncertain and confused just prior to a major breakthrough. He had started to feel a bit like that and I were reassuring him that this was a really good thing and he should embrace it wholeheartedly.
I then pointed out that we don’t always get the A-Ha! Or Eureka! type moments when morphing from what we were to what we want to be. Some people do indeed get the light switch flicked and suddenly everything goes from blurry to crystal clear but others find that the switch is on a dimmer. This doesn’t mean that the end result isn’t the same just that it can become a slow process of realization with things become clearer bit by bit a little bit like fog rolling way on a Fall morning. It’s no less satisfying in the final outcome just more difficult to put your finger on the defining moment or moments.
So if you are making changes in your life keep on the lookout for ground breaking, earth shattering breakthroughs whilst at the same time being conscious and aware of subtle changes that may mean you are on the right track and be encouraging you not to give up.
