Don’t Give Up
I’ve not felt much like posting for the last few days. I have been back in the UK to see my mom who has been unwell and quite honestly I was shocked at the deterioration in her health. I knew she wasn’t at all well but I simply wasn’t prepared to see how much worse she looked than when I last saw her only 2 months or so ago.
The frustrating thing is that the doctors cannot find any physical reasons why she is ill; it would appear that she’s simply given up on life. She is not far short of 80 and since my dad died almost 5 years ago she’s definitely not had the same zest for life that she’d had prior to that.
I don’t want to make this a self-indulgent post with no purpose other than to bring people down, that’s not where I am at, at all. What I want to do is to get you to think about the power of your mind. I would guess that 99 out of 100 people if I told them that story about my mom would nod their head in understanding and not really think of it as being unusual in any way shape or form.
So with that in mind, why would anybody think that the reverse could not be true?
I am lucky in so much as the people that hire a life coach usually have some belief that things can improve otherwise why would they bother opting for life coaching in the first place? The simple answer is that they wouldn’t.
If you are one of those people that believe your mind is a wealth of untapped resources that can propel you to bigger and better things then good for you, you are probably going places. If though you believe that you are not in control of your own destiny, be that health, career or any other aspect of your life then guess what? You probably aren’t, and you are wide open to all the vagaries that life can throw at you. The good news though is that every day you wake up the choice is yours to decide what you want to think.
