Done & Dust(jacket)ed - A Life Coaching Book For The Masses

I suppose I should really apologize for that rather grandiose title, but in the words of the Pointer Sisters, “I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it” because my book, Don’t Ask Stupid Questions – There Are No Stupid Questions (snappy title, huh?) is finally done and will be shipped to the publisher today.

This seemed like it was going to be so much easier at the start of the process, but I had under-estimated the amount of time it would take to proof read, typeset and get things like ISBN codes and the dust jacket finished. I don’t care now because I can put that to one side and just look forward to humping boxes of the damn thing off a truck in about 6 weeks time.

Somebody asked me a week or two ago whether I kept some of the “good stuff” back. To be honest the thought had never even occurred to me, and if it had, I’m not sure I would have done it. Why would I? If somebody wants to hire a life coach, they want to hire a life coach. Reading a book, even one as stunningly effective as mine ;-) is not the same thing at all, although of course it can be very helpful, so don’t go thinking that you don’t need to now buy multiple copies, because you do. Anybody spot the highly obvious embedded command there? I’m so unscrupulous at times.

Anyway, back to planet earth. The book is effectively a life coach yourself book with most of the best stuff that I do with clients in it. That sounds like a direct contradiction of what I said at the beginning but it isn’t. What I mean is that there may have been some omissions, but the REALLY good stuff is in there. It is not written like a self-development manual (at least not one I have ever read), it doesn’t tell you what to do to improve the quality of your life; it just gets you to think differently about certain aspects. That is all we usually need to make significant changes for the better, to simply look at a situation from an alternate viewpoint, and this book is designed to do just that.

I think my next book will be more traditional i.e. walking the reader through the steps of self-coaching but until then….

I’ll have a page up on my website to pre-order copies and it will also be available through the publisher, Aspen Light Publishing in November.
