Dare To Be Great In 2008!

My wife came out with something brilliant last night. To be fair she often does and like the plagiaristic swine that I am I usually steal it for my own ends. You may have guessed what she said because the title of the post gives it away as it was “Dare To Be Great in 2008” I love that sentiment because it really resonates with some strong beliefs that I hold and I intend using it ad nauseum and trust me, I do a very good ad nauseum!

Sometimes when I tell people what I am about to tell you I get the response “Well yeh you’re bound to think that because you’re a life coach” Of course they’re right but the reason is somewhat skewed. I am a life coach because I think like that, I don’t think like that because I’m a life coach. I was going to say it’s a subtle difference but there’s nothing subtle about it, it’s a humongous difference, a gargantuan, monolithic, colossal difference of biblical proportions. I wasn’t forced under pain of death to sign a contract in life coaching school that forbad me from ever doubting the human spirit, I already believed that to start with, which was what drove me to change careers at the tender age of 41.

In my opinion people don’t fail in life and by that I mean fail to achieve they want to achieve, because they aren’t talented enough. It’s not lack of money or desire or opportunities and it’s definitely not a shortage of qualifications or time. No, the real reason people don’t fulfill their ambitions is simply through a lack of belief and the courage to change.

If you are one of those people that thinks you have untapped potential why not just go for it next year and see if you can be what you want to be. Decide to give yourself one year to radically change your life for the better.  You can do it you know. It may seem overwhelming but I guarantee whatever it is you’d like to achieve somebody somewhere has done it before, so if they can you can.

You can of course get help by hiring a life coach but you’ll have to ask yourself whether spending a few hundred dollars is worth it to be the person you want to be. Tough call ;-)
