Aim High
I was having a chat with a life coaching client a week or so ago. This guy has big hopes and dreams and I like that. In fact the most excited I have ever got with a client was when somebody told me they wanted to be worth $3billion. Now that’s what I call a goal! That really is something you can sink your teeth into. If you have a goal that doesn’t inspire you or make you feel excited at the mere thought of it, get one that does.
So back to my client. He had read the book ‘The 4-Hour work Week: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich” and we were talking about it when he let out a big sigh and said, “The problem is Tim, I just don’t want to have to work 4 hours”
Brilliant! I love that kind of attitude, it shows me somebody that knows what they want. It also shows me that they don’t subscribe to the ridiculous belief that you only succeed by working crazy hours and putting your ‘nose to the grindstone’. I know some people might think the guy is lazy and I respect their opinion, but I’m guessing if he pulls it off they will be somewhat jealous.
Is it possible to work less than 4 hours and have a great life? Well if anybody else has ever done it before without inheriting wealth, then the answer has to be yes. Is it easy? Absolutely not, but who cares about easy goals?
